This is the competitive wing of Swimfast Aquatic Group and with only 20 swimmers in year 1996, it has grown to more than 300 swimmers. Our experienced coaches are directed and led by Head Consultant, Mr David Lim, who has brought the national teams to numerous international competitions such as Asian Games, Olympic Games, etc. as well as our Head Coach, Coach Melvin Cheong.
Over the years, Swimfast has groomed and nurtured many elite swimmers such as Joseph Schooling, Tao Li, Samantha Yeo, Amanda Lim and many more. We are well-represented at every national swimming team – e.g. Swimfast had 13 out of 17 swimmers representing Singapore at 2014 Asian Games, 9 out of 11 swimmers at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
We are also the proud champions for 13 out of 14 Singapore National Swimming Championships. In the year 2018, we were the overall champion for Singapore Junior Inter-Club Championships too, making it our 6th win.
We currently have 6 competitive teams – 3 teams at ACS Barker and 3
teams at Methodist Girls’ School.
Swimmers in our Learn to Swim program are carefully guided to progress to the Junior Competitive Squad, typically made up of swimmers aged 6 to 10 years. At this stage, swimmers focus on developing their stroke foundations while learning the basics of competitive training. This includes building endurance and speed through tailored training sets, drills.
Junior swimmers usually train 3 to 4 times per week, gradually enhancing their skills and preparing for more advanced levels of competition.
Our Junior Teams are led by Coach Dean at ACS Barker and Coach Andrew at Methodist Girls’ School
The Intermediate Competitive Squad follows the Junior Competitive Squad, catering to swimmers aged 10 to 12 who have met the minimum qualifying times for 50m events and 100m Freestyle. Prior experience in competitive swimming is required at this level. Training focuses on building strength, muscle endurance, and speed through specialized workouts.
Swimmers in this squad typically train 4 to 5 times per week to continue developing their skills and performance.

Our Youth Competitive Squads cater to swimmers aged 11 and older. Swimmers are required to meet the minimum qualifying times for 200m events to ensure they have the endurance necessary for longer training sessions. Morning sessions (5:30 AM) will also be introduced to help swimmers transition smoothly to the Senior Team when they reach 13 years old. Training at this level focuses on developing all aspects of swimming to produce well-rounded, competitive athletes.
Swimmers in this squad typically train 5 to 7 times per week to further enhance their skills, endurance, and performance.
Our Youth Competitive Squad is led by Coach Meng Seng at ACS Barker and Coach Cindy at Methodist Girls’ School, both dedicated to guiding swimmers towards their full potential.
