Coach Melvin is one of the few coaches in Singapore with a title of Master Coach (NCAP Level 3). Harnessing a background of being attached to some of the best coaches in the industry during his formative coaching years, he has molded many well-rounded swimmers through his coaching, guiding them from local meets to Regional Competitions with the National Team. He is currently coaching the Senior Competitive Squad at Methodist Girls’ School.
The Founder of SAC, he is very passionate about competitive swimming in Singapore. He has 19 SEA Games Gold medals under his name, is an Asian Games medallist, a two-time Olympian, and three- time Sportsman of the Year (1985, 1987, 1988). With his great wealth of experience, he was also the National Team Coach for many years. His tremendous passion for swimming and coaching is evident in the numerous national champions he has nurtured over the years.
MJ started competitive coaching in 2009 and has led many swimmers to international swim meets. He has vast experience in all arrays of swimming: Learn-to-Swim, Competitive Swimming, Lifesaving & Triathlon swimming. His focus now is to expand SAC internationally.
Coach Meng Seng’s reputation in the swimming scene has been amassed for over 30 years to date. Bringing with him an irreplaceable wealth of experience and knowledge, he has led many Swim Squads, bearing many reputable names over the years. With his vast training experience in the Asian region along with himself being a SEA Games Silver Medallist in 1977, his training methods has carved out many promising swimmers. He currently leads the Youth Competitive Squad at ACS Barker.
Coach Wei is one of the pioneer coaches in SAC. Through the years he has honed his craft with numerous Junior Squads, setting a solid foundation for many Junior swimmers to flourish as they progressed up through his coaching. He uses his experience to mould long-term swimmers in strength and speed, leading them up to the Youth and Senior Squads. He is currently coaching the Intermediate Competitive Squad at ACS Barker.
Coach Dean used to be a competitive swimmer, moving to swim coaching after retirement. Moving up the ranks in SAC from Learn-to-Swim and Pre-Competitive Squads over a span of 14 years, he currently leads the Junior Competitive Squad. He channels his passion and dedication to his craft by leading young swimmers to the competitive scene, focusing on strong foundations and good stroke work to produce long-term based results.
Coach Cindy is a former national-level athlete with a passion for swimming. She began her swimming journey at the age of 6 and joined the Beijing team at 9, where she received professional training and competed at the highest levels. Throughout her career, she claimed first place in the Beijing Swimming Competition across various disciplines, including freestyle, backstroke, and individual events.
With over 10 years of experience in professional coaching, Coach Cindy has developed a deep expertise in training swimmers of all levels.
With over 12 years of coaching expertise in both Learn-to-Swim and Competitive swimming, Coach Andrew holds certifications as an Austswim Assessor, Certified Distinction Lifeguard, and is a Singapore Aquatics Mentor to aspiring coaches. Currently coaching the Junior Squad at Methodist Girls’ School, he believes in nurturing each swimmer’s potential, fostering perseverance through challenges, and instilling a genuine enjoyment of the sport.
Coach Liang was previously a professional Artistic Swimming athlete with the Hunan Sports Team. She was in 1st place in the 2012 China Youth Open Championships and 4th place in the 2012 11th FINA World Youth Championships. Her coaching achievements include leading Team SAC to clinch the Overall Club Championship twice in the annual Singapore Artistic Swimming Championships. She still leads many aspiring young swimmers to be competitive Artistic Swimmers, from local meets to International Competitions.
Coach Lucas is currently the coach for the Junior Development Squad at Swimfast Aquatic Club. He is well-experienced with swimmers aged 4 to 18 years old. A former competitive swimmer himself, he still trains regularly to break his personal best timings.
Coach Keane carries a Diploma in Sports Coaching and has already amassed over seven years of experience through SAC’s Learn-to-Swim program. He puts in his dedication to fostering a love for the sport into his swimmers, focusing on skill development as his base. He is currently coaching the Junior Development Squad in both ACS Barker and Methodist Girls’ School.
Coach Annabelle is a former national athlete who began her artistic swimming journey at the age of 9. She joined the Singapore national youth team when she was 14 and subsequently entered the national team a year later. Now, she is dedicated to passing on her expertise by coaching the next generation of artistic swimmers, helping them develop strong fundamentals and a passion for the sport.
Coach Jae Shien is a former Artistic Swimming athlete with Swimfast Aquatic Club, who discovered her passion for the sport at the age of 9. Now, she mentors young athletes embarking on their Artistic Swimming journey and strives to create productive yet meaningful training sessions. With a newfound joy for coaching, she is dedicated to developing a strong foundation for her students, giving back to the community that once nurtured her.
